How to use this tool

  1. 1Enter total tenants and total leased area.
  2. 2Enter how many tenants responded and the area covered by their data.
  3. 3Optionally enter the breakdown of kWh that is measured, allocated, or proxy.
  4. 4Review coverage percentages and suggested actions.
  5. 5Copy the summary to drive outreach and escalation.

Example (sanity check)

If 50 total tenants, 30 with data, 1M sq ft total, 700K sq ft covered:

Coverage by Count

60%

30 ÷ 50

Coverage by Area

70%

700K ÷ 1M

Common pitfalls

  • Tracking "responses" without tracking usable data quality
  • Not prioritizing large tenants (area coverage is usually the lever)
  • Letting "proxy" become permanent without an improvement plan
  • Not storing evidence links (bills/exports) for tenant data
